The Food Standards Agency's Guidance Document 'E. coli O157: Control of Cross Contamination' requires Food Business Operators to ensure that, where necessary, they are using appropriate disinfectants that meet the requirements of British Standards BS EN 1276 or BS EN 13697 to disinfect food contact surfaces and equipment.
To the best of my knowledge all disinfectants listed on this page meet the requirements of British Standards BS EN 1276 or BS EN 13697. The list is subject to regular updates and products may be added or removed at any time.
If you would like to add a disinfectant to the list, please use the 'ADD A DISINFECTANT' button above.
DETTOL has been removed from the list again. Despite being sent a report which showed compliance with both BS EN 1276 and BS EN 13697, the manufacturers continue to send contrary information to everyone who enquires, so the product is off the list for good.
